Lesline, Walter L., 78, retired Buick Dealership owner, died Thursday, May 22, 2008. Service 11:00 A.M., Tuesday, May 27, Downing Lahey Mortuary East. Graveside service 2:30 P.M., Tuesday, Yates Center Cemetery, Yates Center, KS. Walter Lesline was born in Yates Center, KS, October 1st, 1929. He was a graduate of Yates Center High School and Iola Jr. College. He served in the United States Navy. After working for the Missouri Pacific railroad, he was employed by the Loveless Chevrolet car dealership and Cantrell Buick dealership in Yates Center. He began working for Ben Robinson Buick dealership in Wichita in 1965. Later, he bought the dealership which became Robinson - Lesline Buick. He retired in 1998. Walter had a passion for flying, earning his pilots license in 1949. He owned and operated several aircraft in his lifetime. Preceded in death by mother, Clarice Dutro, father, Walter L. Lesline, sister, Mary Sue Dutro, grandmother, Mable Knapp, and grandfather, Oscar Knapp. Survived by wife Judith, sister, Shirley Hale (husband, Alan) and nieces and nephews.
