Lieselotte "Lisa" Lueken

August 1, 1934 ~ May 3, 2022
Lieselotte “Lisa” Lueken, 87, passed peacefully on Tuesday, May 3, 2022 after a prolonged illness.
Lisa was born in 1934 in Germany to Dr. Karl and Anneliese Muller. She grew up during very turbulent times in WWII.
Following the war, she studied dietetics and worked as a dietitian in a German hospital where she met and married the love of her life, a physician, in 1957.
The two immigrated to the United States and lived most of the following 65 years in Wichita, KS. She is survived by her husband, Lueke Lueken, MD; her brother, Professor Dr. THEOL, Wolfgang Muller (Marianne); her daughter, Barbara (Greg) Anderson; two grandchildren, Megan (Tate) Hancock, Lueke (Anna) Anderson, DO; two great-grandchildren, Wyatt and Payton Hancock. She is preceded in death by her beloved parents.
She and her husband were members of Plymouth Congregational Church and had many friends here and in Europe.
She loved all animals, gardening, traveling, and music. She was quite an accomplished pianist in her younger years and loved going to the symphony and music theater. She loved her family fiercely and enjoyed nothing more than to spend time with them. She especially loved watching her grandchildren in their many activities and seeing them grow up. Lisa was a beautiful, vibrant woman who was full of life and laughter and she always had a kind word to say to anyone she came in contact with.
A private memorial service will be held for family only at Downing & Lahey East Mortuary.
In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made in her name to the Kansas Humane Society, Botanica, and the Alzheimer’s Association.
It’s funny, but I was just thinking of Lisa. I knew her from Plymouth Church, as well as exercise classes back in the day. She said we used to “kick legs together”! The most beautiful person inside and out. She was like sunshine. Lisa Gough
Dear Lueke, I am thinking of you and offering prayers for your comfort as you mourn Lisa’s passing. May you and your family take comfort in the happy times and memories you share. May she Rest In Peace. God bless you.
Lisa was a dear sweet lady. Jane and I are sorry for your loss. She will be missed. Don and Jane Luellen
