Interment will follow the funeral mass at Calvary Cemetery. Vern was born on November 23, 1916 on his familys farm near Beloit, Kansas to parents Mary Catherine (Ludwig) and John William Lambertz. He was the second youngest and last surviving of 9 siblings. They moved to Wichita in 1929 where he attended school at The Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception. On November 27, 1947 he married Mary “Jane” Pracht. To this union were born three children, Katherine “Kit” Lambertz, Charles “Chuck” Lambertz and Elizabeth “Beth” Lambertz-Guimaraes. Vern fully dedicated himself to God, his family and his work. He began his professional career with Dunn Bradstreet for whom he traveled all over the country. Vern always considered Wichita his home and returned in 1951. He started Lambertz Company Real Estate in 1955 and never truly retired. He specialized in the brokerage and development of commercial real estate particularly shopping centers. Real estate was the career he poured his heart into, however his family and works of services for the Catholic Church were the vocations he poured his soul into; most notably delivering Communion to the sick and shut-in. Vern has been an active member in every parish of which he was a member. A remarkably loving steward of his family, Vern is survived by three children Kit, Chuck and Beth (Rui); grandchildren Charles (Amber) Lambertz and Katie (Chad) Manning and a great-grandson Connor Manning. He is also survived by nephews and nieces, numerous great nephews and nieces and great-great nephews and nieces. He was preceded in death by his wife Jane, June 7, 1977, his parents, siblings; Loretta Hartung, Joseph, Madelon Thompson, Gertrude Jennings, Adolf, Arnold, Jerome and Lorene Sinclair, his daughter-in-law Kathy as well as several nephews and nieces. 1. Our condoleces to you. Vern was a wonderful man who always sought bto help others in his creation of the Wesley Hospital eucharistic ministry and attentin to the sick. He will be greatly missed.

  2. Chuck, Kit, and Beth, I was deeply saddened to hear of you father’s death. He was a wonderful man who received his greatest pleasure in serving others. I could not attend the services, because I had surgery and have been hospitalized. My family sends their deepest condolences to you and your family.

  3. Hello Chuck and others! This is Dan Traver here in Wichita. I have know about your dad for many years. My mother went to Cathedral at the same time as Vern. She always spoke quite highly of him and had a great deal of respect for him and valued their relationship! I recall Chuck the first time I was in your realty office and have OFTEN thought of the (Far Side I believe) cartoon of, ‘ Vern, Chuck and the Pope go fishing.’ 🙂 Vern Lambertz was one of the kindest individuals I have ever had the pleasure to have met! Thank you too Chuck for taking time to share events about your life! God Bless the entire family! Respectfully and with sympathy! Dan Traver

  4. My sympathy to the family. My Mother was Ethel Schmidt abd her Mother was Anna Lamberzt. Ethel was a distance cousin To Vern. She got in touch with him. My husband Paul and I visited him in Witchita in his home. I have a daughter, Kris Hill, who is a nurse, and she talked with him often.

  6. Kit, My sincere condolences to you and Chuck, and all of your family, on the passing of your father. Nine years ago this month, Vern visited my dad who was terminally ill in Wesley Hospital. My dad so appreciated Vern’s visits, as did my family. Your father was an ambassador of Christian stewardship; I think you captured that faith-inspired service in the beautiful obituary in the paper. I just want to observe that Vern touched lives in ways that matter to people. He did it by showing he cared. He served the Lord by serving others. I am sad when the world loses a man like Vern Lambertz. I share your loss and will keep your family in my prayers. God bless.

  8. Our tribute to Vern Lambertz, Vern was the person who encouraged me to inter the Real Estate business in 1971. I am married to his niece who has the same name as his wonderful wife who also supported me at the start of my Real Estate career at Lambertz Co. I am posting this tribute to Vern because he was a very positive influence in my life and I am sure he had a positive influence in many peoples lives. I was in the aviation industry in Wichita and was forced to leave Wichita in 1970 when a recession impacted this industry. Vern suggested that if I had an alternate profession I might not have such an issue in the future and I might do well in the Real Estate industry. He was correct; I sold residential property out of his commercial office and went on to be successful in the Real Estate business for some years later. I am now retired form the aviation industry and hold a brokers license in Kansas and run my own investment Real Estate Company. I will always love and respect you Vern for this positive influence you had in my life. Larry Malone Vern was always a very caring and loving uncle. Mary J. Malone

  9. Chuck our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. Vern was good man and will be missed.
