Lois M. Holscher Our LORD called Lois Maxine Holscher to Himself on Friday, April 28, 2017 at age 90. Lois lived formerly in Wichita, KS and Savannah, GA before her move to The Legend at Capital Ridge, Topeka, KS, where she was a member of Prince of Peace Lutheran Church. She was born in Holyrood, KS in 1927, attended Lutheran grade school and Holyrood High School (Valedictorian) and was a scholarship student at the University of Kansas. Moving to Wichita, she continued school while a full-time Bell Telephone switchboard operator. She married Ed Holscher in 1948, and bore two daughters, Cindy Meyer of Topeka, and Kay Saving of Peoria, IL. God blessed this family with seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Moving to Dallas, Lois graduated from SMU in Elementary Education, taught school and then in St. Louis, obtained a Masters in Guidance and Counseling at St. Louis University. She continued teaching and counseling elementary students for 42 years. Her love for children was shown in the 50 years she taught Sunday School children in the various cities where the family lived. After retiring from teaching, she had a successful real estate career and volunteered at Safe Shelter in Savannah, GA, a domestic violence facility. Funeral Service will be at 10:30 A.M., Monday, May 1, 2017, at Downing & Lahey East Mortuary.
