Memories Timeline

Guestbook

  1. If I could only find the words to tell you what my heart feels for you all at this moment–I was also raised in Independence and my parents (Fred and Grace Wilkin) and Lois’ (Ray and ‘aunt’ Lelia) were great friends–despite the age difference when Lois was home from KU she was nice to me and, of course, I thought she was wonderful (and still do). Years later when we moved to Wichita, Lois helped us get settled and learn our way around town. Your Mother and Grandmother was a fine and gracious woman. Please know our sympathies, our love, and our thoughts are with you.

  2. Dear Jim, Susan and family,I remember Mrs Kandt from Chisholm grade school. She drove on some field trips and let me sit next to her (back when three could sit in a front seat.)She seemed worldy because she drove a car, I thought she was pretty and my Mom said she was a very nice. She gave my non driving Mom a ride home from Chisholm more than once. Seems like she was our room mother in one of the early grades. I know she brought good treats to our room. Silly, but fond memories of your special Mom. Jim I use to see you, Jan and your Mom out at dinner time. I am sure she was so pleased to be with you and have your time. May you find comfort in knowing all you did for your Mom and Dad. with sincere sympathy, (Carole) Kelly Womack

  3. Dear Susan, Jim and I were saddened to read about the loss of your mom. Her picture in the paper was beautiful and looked very much like you! We last saw her when our dads were in Manor Care. I think I talked to her on the phone once after that. I always enjoyed visiting with her. Hope you and the family are all doing well. We’d love to get together with you whenever it might work out. We still live in Derby. Give us a call (788-7346) when things slow down. Give the girls our best. You’re in our thoughts and prayers. Love, Jim and Marilyn
