Loretta was a good friend. I enjoyed meeting her on my walks in our neighborhood, and she was always pleasant to talk to. We will miss her.
I will never forget Loretta. She always had a smile on her face and it spread to everyone around her. She was a very special woman and though I may weep for her down here, I know that she is truly home!
Our daughter, Veronica attended Independent School from Pre-K through high school. Mrs Salatino was always there. Her lovely personality, warmness and genuine caring for the students was apparent everyday. There is no doubt about her contribution to their education, growth and development.
Mrs. Salatino was my school librarian twenty years ago. After school, she would let me come to the library to reshelve books and help design the displays while I pretended to be a tres fancy French designer. She was the kindest woman and enriched my love of reading. We kept in touch until her retirement and I have thought of her many times in the intervening years. I know I am just one of many students whose lives she touched.
I will miss Loretta so very much. When I moved here she was the first neighbor I met. She came over when we were unpacking to deliver the HOA packet and to say welcome to the neighbor. I didn\’t realize then what a wonderful friend she would become. We really hit it off and we had so much fun. With another of our friends, Anne, we had many delightful excursions and late night visits. Loretta was up for anything and could be ready to go somewhere on a moments notice. We made it to art shows, art galleries, Broadway plays, movies, concerts and even though she always declared she didn\’t care for sweets she could polish off an ice cream cone before I could. Loretta was good for me in a million different ways. She was, one of the most important things a person could ever hope to find, and that is a true friend. She will always have a special place in my memory. And thinking of her will always bring a smile.
