Loretta (Kessler) Augustin Evans

Loretta (Kessler) Augustin Evans, 95, died Wednesday, October 6, 2021. Visitation will be from 4:00 - 6:00 pm, Monday, October 11, 2021; Funeral Vigil will be at 10:00 am, Tuesday, October 12, 2021, both at Downing & Lahey East Mortuary. The Funeral Vigil will be live streamed and available to view by clicking "Watch Event" below. Loretta retired from Southwestern Bell Telephone Company in March 1986. She started her career with the MA bell systems in Chicago, IL in 1944 and was one of the first part-time employees, while still in high school. After graduation from Amundson High School she went to full time and worked for MA Bell until 1960. She married Richard Augustin in January of 1960 and moved to Wichita, KS. She then transferred to Southwestern Bell Tel. Loretta Evans was born November 4, 1925 in Chicago, IL to Louis and Mary Zurline Kessler from Loretto, TN. She was preceded in death by her parents; and brother, Dick Kessler; and her husbands. Survived by her nieces and nephews from Wichita and Chicago.
