Mabel Verda (Yoder) Yoder, age 97, homemaker and retired teacher, died Saturday, April 26, 2008. Services, 10:00 am Wednesday at Downing and Lahey West Mortuary followed by a 2:00 pm graveside service at the Pleasant Valley Mennonite Cemetery in Harper, Kansas. She was a graduate of Colorado University, Boulder, Colorado. Preceded in death by, husband, O.J. Yoder; twin sons, Gene Martin and Dene Delos; infant daughter, Orris Jo; parents, Martin and Mary (Butz) Yoder; brothers, Reuben and Paul Marvin; sisters, Martha Schmidt and Betty Eshnaur. Survivors: grandchildren, Sandi Dixon, Dene Delos Yoder, Jr. and wife, Shelly, Kimberly Yoder; daughter-in-law, Annie Yoder, all of Colorado and Utah; foster son, Ron Gulley; foster daughter, Charlene Givens and husband, Larry, daughters, Cailin and Cristen, all of Kansas City, Missouri; great-grandchildren, Damian and wife Dianna, Jessica and Brenden; Travis, Megan, Colton, Clayton and Savannah Yoder, Xzaviar and XzAndre Gallegos; and great-great-granddaughter, Nyah Yoder; sister, Inez (Yoder) Hockett of Norwich, KS; fourteen nieces and nephews. Church affiliation: long time member of Pleasant Valley Mennonite Church. Membership at present in the West Heights United Methodist Church. 2:00 pm graveside service at the Pleasant Valley Mennonite Cemetery, Harper, Kansas
