Mae N. Matthews

Matthews, Mae Nell Bridges, 79, passed away peacefully on September 22, 2014. Mae is survived by her son Mark Matthews (Vicki) of Chicago, IL, her daughter Kim Matthews of Wichita, KS, her sister-in-law Joan Bridges of Sacramento, CA, her nieces Denise Phillips (Debra Weldon) of Vancouver, WA and Karen Taliesin (Brian) of Seattle, WA, and her nephew John Bridges (Amy Raff) of West Hurley, NY. She was preceded in death by her parents, Etta and Lawrence Bridges, two brothers, Larry and Glenn, and her sister Dorothy. Mae was a long-time resident of Wichita and worked as a bookkeeper at United American Bank (which became Emprise Bank). She also worked at Total Home Health Care for many years, and then retired from Wesley Medical Center where she worked in patient admissions. Mae was a proud, long-time member of both the Golden Girls and Grace Presbyterian Church. She was one of a kind and will be missed dearly by all who knew and loved her. Services for Mae will be held Sunday October 19th at 3:00 pm at Grace Presbyterian Church, 5002 East Douglas Avenue, Wichita KS (316) 684-5215. Downing Lahey East Mortuary.
