"Manny" Amanuel Scott Capps

"MANNY" Amanuel Scott Capps received his wings on Thursday, May 30, 2024, in Merriam, KS. Manny was born in Wichita. Kansas on December 6, 1993, as a twin ("Baby A" - his birth color was red) alongside his brother ("Baby B" - his birth color was blue) "DANNY" Ariel Daniel Capps. Manny moved to Goddard, Kansas to his family home known as "The Goddard House" where he shared many childhood/adulthood memories with his family and friends. Manny was extremely athletic and excelled in every sport he played. He attended Goddard High School where he enjoyed lifting weights and he played football. He was known for catching an interception during a football game with two recently broken arms. Manny was an all-state wrestler who achieved first place in countless meets. He played baseball with Wichita West Urban Baseball as the star left-handed pitcher. He was also known for stealing bases and scoring home runs. Manny became a professional bodybuilder where he competed in professional shows where he often received first place He moved to the Kansas City area after the birth of his son Daxton Daniel Capps (now 10 years old). Manny loved lifting weights and working out in the gym. He was known for lighting up the atmosphere and was always willing to encourage his "Gym Buddies" that they could be the best. Manny would walk around amongst his son, family, and friends shouting, "I'm Bulking". He owned and operated "Big Dog Garage Door Service " He was well respected in his craft by his customers, contractors, and suppliers. Manny dedicated his time and love for children in the Kansas City Community; and was the head coach of his son's baseball team the "Reapers." Manny loved to spend his time being a great dad to Daxton. Manny was a devoted dad who was often recognized for carrying the torch by supporting Daxton in wrestling, boxing, baseball, track, and keeping Daxton well-dressed. Manny was the glue that held the family together and was always the peacemaker with his family and friends. Especially, his twin brother, Danny, Manny kept him grounded and level-headed, they will always be together in life and spirit. Manny always put others before himself and had a very giving spirit and was very respectful to all. Last but not least, Manny had a giving spirit and was a "mamma's boy" and for that, his mother called him "Carla Jr". God sent him on a mission and then called him home. Manny's family is saddened by his untimely death, along with his mother (Carla Creal-Hobbs), twin brother (Danny), son (Daxton), sister(Zharmelle), younger brother (Chase), nieces ( Lyric) and (Italy), and three nephews, (Deilyn) Dorryan), (Camden), family, best friend (Jake Jeter), community, and host of friends (some often called brothers/ & “Uncle TJ”) and customers; also included two dogs and two cats. Manny was baptized on November 26, 2023, affirming his faith and connection with the divine. His baptism stands as a testament to his spiritual journey and the grace that surrounded his life. He will be deeply missed but find solace in knowing he rests in the loving embrace of GOD. Visitation will be 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm, Friday, June 14, 2024, at Downing & Lahey West Mortuary. The Funeral Service will be 10:00 am, Saturday, June 15, 2024, at Christian Faith Centre, 3310 E. Pawnee Street, Wichita, KS with the interment to follow at the Valley Center Memorial Cemetery, 9638 N. Meridian, Valley Center, KS. Repass will be at "The Goddard House" following the graveside service for immediate family and close family friends.
