Margaret A. Reed

Margaret A. Reed, 78, passed away on Wednesday, October 9th, 2013. Rosary 6 pm, Sunday, October 13 Mass of Christian burial, 11 am Monday, October 14, both at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Margaret graduated from St. Marys Cathedral High School. She majored in journalism at the University of Missouri. Margaret was a devoted wife of 56 years, mother, sister, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was preceded in death by her parents, Sidney and Marie Ward (Weiss), and her brother, John Ward. She is survived by her husband, John Reed; children, Nora (Kent) Reilley, Kathy Reed, John (Mary) Reed, and Patti (Craig) Akin, all of Wichita; sister, Cindy Ward (Phillip), of Burns, KS and Concord, CA; grandchildren, Fr. Patrick, Jeff, Katie, Matthew Reilley, Sean Kirsch, Erica (Sean) Sage, Danielle (Erik) Ritzman, Jackie, Kristin, Jenna Reed, and Alyssa Elisabeth Akin; great-grandchildren, Haden Ezra Sage, Avery Ritzman, and Lilly Carrubba. A memorial has been established with the St. Joseph Catholic Church, 145 S. Millwood, Wichita, KS, 67213. Downing Lahey Mortuary West.
