Margaret "Joan" Wurth, 79, passed away on Tuesday, August 15, 2023. Born on October 29, 1943 in Enid, OK, graduated from high school in Enid in 1961, attended nursing training at St. Francis School of Nursing in Wichita, KS, and served in the U.S. Navy Nurse Corps from 1965 through 1973. She finished her last 30 years of active nursing (working in surgery at St. Francis Hospital) in 2003. Preceded in death by her parents, John and Lola Wurth; her brothers, Charles and Donald Wurth; her nephews, Ronald and Nicholas Wurth; niece, Susane Phillips.Survived by her brother, John Wurth and his wife, Janice; and many nieces and nephews.Funeral Mass will be at 11:00 am, Saturday, August 26, 2023, at St. Elizabeth Chapel at the Catholic Care Center, 6700 E. 45th St. N., Bel Aire.A memorial has been established with: Catholic Charities, 437 N. Topeka St., Wichita, KS 67202.Services in care of Downing & Lahey Mortuary - East Chapel.
