Margaret Lucille Curry

Margaret Lancaster Curry, 95, died April 1, 2016 in Wichita, KS. She was born November 8, 1920 in Muskogee, OK to Robert Oren and Bertha Ellen (OLeary) Underwood. In 1925 the family moved near Davenport, OK. She began her education at Mead College, a country school. The family later moved to Maramec, OK where in 1938 Margaret graduated from high school. She attended Oklahoma A&M (now Oklahoma State University) in Stillwater for one year. Margaret married Merl F. Lancaster July 27, 1940. In 1952 the family moved to Wichita, KS. Following Merls death in 1960, she attended Wichita Business College and was employed at the Southeast Clinic until retiring in 1982. In 1979 Margaret married C.H. “Pat” Curry. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Merl (1960) and Pat (2013); brother, Robert Bruce Underwood; sisters-in-law, Ruby (Lancaster) Ripley and Laura Mae (Lancaster) Cooprider; brother-in-law, Otto Cooprider; son-in-law, Douglas L. Peltier. Margaret is survived by her daughter, Kay Peltier of Columbus, OH; sons, Robert L. Lancaster (Dona) of Wichita, William F. Lancaster (Jacquelyn) of Bonner Springs, KS; step-son, Charles Curry (Barbara) of Lees Summit, MO; grandchildren, Jason R. Lancaster, Marc D. Peltier (Katie), Daniel L. Peltier (Leslie), Lynn Lancaster Edmonds (Chad); step-grandsons, DeWayne Freeman (Cindy), Christopher Curry, Patrick Curry; great-grandchildren, Nikolaj and Nils Peltier, Hope, Grace, Isabella and Cole Edmonds. Visitation with Family will be from 5:00 - 7:00 P.M., Thursday, April 7, 2016; Memorial service will be held at 10:00 A.M., Friday, April 8, 2016, both at Downing & Lahey East Mortuary. Graveside Service will follow at 3:00 P.M., at Highland Cemetery, Pawnee, OK.
