Marguerite E. Meisenheimer

Marguerite E. Meisenheimer, 97, died Wednesday, January 31, 2018. Marguerite was born in Pretty Prairie, KS to Gerhardt and Ella Unruh Goering. She graduated from Arlington High School and the School of Cosmetology in Topeka, KS. She married Dwain Meisenheimer in 1940 and moved to Wichita County in 1943, where she lived for 38 years and was an outstanding homemaker and co-farmer with her husband. She belonged to Pleasant Valley United Methodist Church, and was active in UMW, Sunnyside HDU, Farm Bureau Women, a 4-H leader, and a supporter of church and community activities. Upon retirement, she and Dwain moved to Hutchinson and then in 2007, Wichita. She was a lifelong supporter of her family, community, and churches (Mitchel UMC, Faith Chapel UMC, Hutchinson; and Calvary UMC, Wichita). She volunteered wherever she saw the need. Preceded in death by her husband, Dwain; son, Robert; son-in-law, David Utermark; 1 sister; 2 brothers. Survived by her daughters, Carole Utermark and Jeanie Reeves (Richard), both of Wichita, KS; daughter-in-law, Lee Meisenheimer of Colorado Springs, CO; 5 grandchildren, Scott Hartmann, Kelley Reeves, Paul Meisenheimer, Amy Sampsel, and Brian Reeves; 7 great-grandchildren; brother, Gordon (Joyce) Goering. Funeral Service will be at 10:30 a.m., Monday, February 5, 2018, at Pretty Prairie United Methodist Church, 201 S. Rhodes St., Pretty Prairie, KS 67570. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the church or charity of donors choice. Downing & Lahey Mortuary - East Chapel.
