Marguerite (Wadsworth) Fanning

Marguerite (Wadsworth) Fanning, 85, finally succumbed to Alzheimers on December 5, 2016. She is preceded in death by her parents, Albert and Esther Wadsworth; sisters, Ruth Foulston, Dorothy Wadsworth; and is survived by sister, Kathleen Johnston of Cincinnati, OH. She is also survived by her husband of 65 years, H. W. "Bud" Fanning; three children, Cathy (Mike) Sanner of Edmond, OK, Jim (Marie) Fanning of Blue Springs, MO, Dr. John (Nancy) Fanning of Wichita; 6 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; 3 step-grandchildren; 4 step-great-grandchildren. She was a native Wichitan. She graduated from East High School in 1949 and attended Wichita University where she was a member of Sorosis sorority. She worked to put her husband through law school after which she became a full-time wife and mother, encouraging all of her children to graduate from KU with subsequent graduate degrees. Memorial Service will be at 10:00 A.M., Saturday, December 17, 2016, at Downing & Lahey East Mortuary. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests a donation to Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice, 313 S. Market, Wichita, KS 67202.
