Marian L. Henry

Henry, Marian Lyon, 92, died Saturday, May 9, 2015, at her home with daughters in Wichita, Kansas. She was married to Robert G. Henry for 58 years. He died on November 2, 2006. She is survived by her three daughters, Margaret L. Henry of Independence, MO, Patricia W. Henry of Walsenberg, CO, and Elizabeth L. Henry of Wichita, KS. Her son, Robert G. Henry, Jr., died in Gulfport, MS in May 2012. She had three grandsons, Robert Weinstein of Lawrence, KS, James Henry Rhoads of Kansas City, MO, John Henry Rhoads of Atlanta, GA; one great-grandson, Ansel Henry Rhoads. Marian and her husband Bob married shortly after the Second World War at Marians home in Kansas City, MO. They spent some twenty years traveling with their four children to various Army posts in the United States and Europe. In 1968, the family returned to the Kansas City area to live in Prairie Village, KS. Marian was active in the United Methodist Church and provided care for her mother and husband in their declining years. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given in Marians name to the Alzheimers Association, 1820 E. Douglas Ave., Wichita, KS 67214. A memorial service will be held at Woodland United Methodist Church, 1100 W. 15th St., Wichita, KS on Friday, May 22, 2015 at 1:30 P.M. Downing Lahey East Mortuary.
