Marianne "Meme" Johnston

Marianne Johnston, 86, passed away in her home on October 24, 2023. She was preceded in death by Jerry, her husband of 57 years, former owners of Johnston's Clothiers. Also preceded in death by her brother, Don Risch. She is survived by four siblings, Donna Miglini of Dallas, TX, Tom (Linda) Risch of Omaha, NE, Teri (Joe) Jipp of Watertown, SD, and Jim (Fran) Risch of Muskogee, OK; six children, J.V. (Veronica) Johnston of Wichita, KS, Mike (Kim) Johnston of Gainesville, GA, Don (Lisa) Johnston of Caseyville, IL, Bob (Hue) Nguyen of Norman, OK, Kathy (Jay) Thompson of Tulsa, OK, and Jenny (Dave) Bohn of Mandeville, LA; 18 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and one on the way.Marianne, affectionally called Meme by her family, was passionate about social and environmental causes. She was a gifted seamstress, making Christmas stockings by hand for all of her kids and grandkids, and an excellent baker. Her chocolate chip cookies and fudge in particular were enjoyed by many. Meme loved traveling with her husband Jerry and never turned down the opportunity for a new adventure.Meme's greatest passion of all was her family. A bustling house filled with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren brought her the most joy.Many family members gathered around Meme and provided comfort and love in her final days. Thank you to her longtime caregiver, Stacey, Better Solutions, and Harry Hynes Hospice for their care and support.Rosary will be at 10:00 am, Funeral Mass will be at 10:30 am, Saturday, October 28, 2023, at All Saints Catholic Church, where Marianne and Jerry were longtime parishioners.In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Guadalupe Clinic, 940 S.
