Marie M. Griffee, 87, entrepreneur, of Arkansas City, died Monday, July 19, 2021. Viewing will be from 12:30 - 1:30 pm, Memorial Service will be at 2:00 pm, Thursday, July 22, 2021, at Downing & Lahey East Mortuary. Preceded in death by her parents, Stanley and Daisy Miller; brother, Billy Miller. Survived by her sons, Douglas (Shellee) Lewis of Winfield, KS, Wade "Jeff" Jeffery (Angelia) Lewis of Shawnee Mission, KS; first husband, Wilbur Lewis of Wichita; grandchildren, Cameron (Jimmy) Gibbs of Kansas City, MO, Brandon Lewis of Wichita, Chadwick Lewis of Winfield; great-grandchildren, Farrah Lewis, Wesley Lewis, Finn Gibbs; niece, Beverly Wolfe. A memorial has been established with: Kansas Humane Society, 3313 N. Hillside, Wichita, KS 67219.

Marie was amazing, she always made us laugh at the Linwood Senior Center. She loved to dress up on Halloween for our parties, I remember she once wore a Huckleberry Finn costume and won the prize. She was full of fun and we would laugh and laugh when we were travelling on day trips. We already have missed her dearly, when she moved. Jeff and Doug I am so sorry to hear about Marie. I have so many great memories of your mother. She always was a no nonsense person and told you exactly what she thought. She made me laugh and I know my dad thought very highly of her. He is recovering from surgery and he just read that her service had already occurred. Please know that we are keeping you in our thoughts. Pam and Glenn
