Marjorie Von "Margie" White, age 91, went home to be with our Lord and Savior on October 3, 2017. Visitation with the family is 6-8 p.m. Friday, October 6, at Downing & Lahey West. Funeral, 11 a.m., Saturday, October 7, at First United Methodist Church. Marjorie was a loving wife for 63 years. She was a wonderful mother, a loving grandmother, and a special GiGi to her great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by parents, Ray and Mary Kelly; husband, Von; daughter, Rita Michelle White; brother, Roy "Bud" Kelly; sisters-in-law, Naomi Kelly, Twila ODell, Hazel White, Deloris Hollister, and brothers-in-law, George Kirkendall, Clinton ODell, Jolly White, Dean Hollister and Mel Schroeder. Marjorie graduated from North High in 1943. She worked in her parents grocery store then worked for A.G. Edwards stock brokerage house for several years. After the war was over, she met and later married Von B. White on July 25, 1948. Marjorie attended First United Methodist Church for 68 years where she and Von were members of the 50/50 Class. In 1962, they started the Von B. White Plumbing and Ditching Company. They ran this business until Vons retirement in 2001. Survivors include daughters, Vonda Palmer (Tom) of Goodland, Lana Duncan (Gary), Jill Mason (Fred); son, Danny White (Liz) all of Wichita; sisters-in-law, Blossom Kirkendall of Wichita and Floriene Schroeder of Double Oak, TX; seven grandchildren: Justin Calvert (Tasha), Jeremy Calvert (Melanie), Joel Calvert (Tara), Cortney Dorn (Michael), Scott Mason, Hayley Mason (Andrew) and Jules White; ten great-grandchildren: Jackson, Natalie, Kaden, Liam, Brenyan, Kaelin, Adelynn, Bentley, Baylor and Brielle. In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established with First United Methodist Church, Downtown Alive TV Ministry, 330 N. Broadway, Wichita, KS 67202.
