Martha Bay Black, 94, died Monday, December 17, 2018. Preceded in death by her parents, Greyson and Margaret Collingwood, and husband, Malcolm Cox Black. Survived by her sons, Paul (Kenra) Black of Kansas City, MO, Philip (Lyn) Black of Kansas City, MO, Bruce (Mary) Black of Boston, MA; daughter, Marilyn (Tom) Wickstrom of San Diego, CA; 8 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; niece, Julie Blumenthal. Martha Bay graduated from the University of Oklahoma with a bachelor’s degree in business. Memorials are suggested with: Kansas Children’s Service League, where Martha was a Board member, 1365 N. Custer, Wichita, KS 67203; or Wichita Children’s Home, 7271 E. 37th St. N., Wichita, KS 67226. Celebration of Life will be at 2:00 pm, Saturday, February 16, 2019, at Plymouth Congregational Church, 202 N. Clifton Ave., Wichita, KS 67208. Downing & Lahey Mortuary - East Chapel.
Dear family. I knew Martga Bay from St Stephens and she partipated in a group I led when we studied a a book with a group of church women. I found her to be such a caring loving and curious person.. once she moved to Georgetown I visted her a few times before I moved to Topeka. I am sorry for your loss, but I know you must best peace thatshe did live a long and loving life and is now united again with Malcom

Ms.Black I am going to miss you we had a relationship that was unbreakable we have shared so my many memories over the years you would tell me at this time to not be sad but to cherish the memories you treated me as a daughter and I felt like you were my mom I will hold on to every precious memory that we shared I thank you all for sharing her with me rest in paradise my friend and know that you are with me daily I love and miss you so much.
