Morozzo, Mary Alice (Mary Alice Pringle), 85, passed into the arms of her Lord on Tuesday, October 10, 2006. Friends and family are invited to a service celebrating her life to be held on Saturday, October 14 at 11:00 A.M., at Mission Chapel Mausoleum on East 21st Street. Mary Alice was born on September 29, 1921 in Wichita to Kenneth and CeCile Pringle and was accompanied by an identical twin. She was preceded in death by her husband, Marion Max Morozzo, and a brother, Kenneth W. Pringle. Mary Alice is survived by a daughter, Deaun K. Palenshus of Wichita, her son, Marc, daughter-in-law, Debbie and grandson, Matthew, of Southlake, TX, a twin sister, Helen Maxine Parzybok and a sister-in-law, Ruth Pringle, both of Wichita, and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Mary Alice graduated from North High School and received her social sciences degree from the University of Kansas. During her junior year in college, she attended Barnard College in New York City on a scholarship and studied vocal performance with an outstanding coach. After her graduation from KU in 1943, she and her twin lived in New York City where they fulfilled a number of concert and church appearances. When her twin was married in 1944, Mary Alice returned to Kansas where she worked in reservations for TWA. In 1947, Mary Alice returned to KU for graduate courses and began her 40 years in education, 30 of which were at Wichita East High School and the remainder substituting mostly at The Independent School. The past three summers, she was honored to help her nephew and niece, Bruce and Shelley Pringle, host the KU basketball team during their summer clinic at The Independent School. Her love and affection for teaching resulted in accolades from her former students. Travel was a highlight in her life as she took 18 trips over the Atlantic waters chaperoning her students, adults and friends introducing them to Europe. A memorial has been established at Grace Presbyterian Church, 5002 E. Douglas, Wichita, KS, 67208. Arrangements by Downing and Lahey Mortuary East.

  1. To the family of Mary Alice Morozzo, I was very sorry to hear of your loss. I was hoping to be able to meet Mary. Besides having the love of KU basketball in common, I had learned from a neighbor around the corner (Delores Hills), that she had lived in the house that my husband and I live in now. Mrs Hills attends the same church, and had talked about bringing the ‘two sisters’ by the house. I assured her that they would always be welcome. At this point she hadn’t told me their names. I saw my neighbor earlier this summer and she told me about Mary and Helen going to a picnic at a relatives house with some of the KU basketball players. And I said, that was the Pringles, and I knew that because I work for a former neighbor of the Pringles, and he too was at the picnic. Anyway, sorry to ramble on, but I do wish to convey my sympathy, and I am sorry I was never able to meet her. Sincerely, Mary Easton-White
