Mary E. Hein,
81, passed away Tuesday, August 18, 2020. Funeral Mass, 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, August 25, at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church.
Mary was born in Fort Scott, Arkansas and raised in Springfield, Missouri. She graduated from Southwest Missouri State College in 1959. She married Fred F. Hein in 1963 and they moved to Wichita, Kansas where they had four children. Mary worked in accounting for a number of years and she was the owner/operator of Mary’s Witty Knit for 3 years. She was very devoted to her church and volunteer work. Mary enjoyed spending time with people and was a member of the Red Hats and Tops. She was loved by many and will be missed by all.
Mary is preceded in death by her husband, Frederick F. Hein, Sr.; parents, Walter and Marjorie Essner; daughter, Karen Saindon; brother, Ted Essner; brother-in-law, Joe Rauth; great-granddaughter, Alaijah. She is survived by her sons, Fred F. Hein, III, Ron Hein; daughter, Nanette (Earnie) Boen; grandchildren, Jarred, Matt, Tisha, Brice, Lacy and Nicholas; great-grandchildren, Alex, Alaijah, Akeila, Xander, Riley, Jessie, Conner, Parker and Skyler; sisters, Carol Rauth, Jeannie Walsh.
Aunt Mary was one of the sweetest women to walk this earth! She was loved by all and will be greatly missed. With love, the LeGores and Essners.
Our thoughts are with your family during this time. We always enjoyed Mary’s trips to Dallas – she made everyone feel as part of the family.
