  1. Dr. May, The gathering yesterday reflecting and celebrating Mary’s life was lovely. Thank you and all her family and friends for portraying Mary as she lived. I didn’t have a close relationship with Mary but was so greatly distressed to learn of her passing. Her ‘rebel’ spirit and ‘can do’ attitude will inspire me forever. What a strong, beautiful woman!! I shall truly miss Mary, as will everyone that ever had the pleasure of knowing her. Please accept my condolences. Best regards, Vicki Smith former employee of KSB&T and passionate Shocker fan

  2. Phil, Please accept my sincere sympathy on your loss of Mary. She was a great lady and I’m glad I got to meet her through you. You and your family are in my thoughts and prayers.

  3. Mary, we’re going to miss you deeply. Your dedication to your profession was surpassed only by your considerate treatment for those of us in the bankruptcy bar.

  4. Phil, The Prairie Rides, vacationing Wichita, dinners in the hood, etc……….there are so many wonderful memories of happy times with you & Mary to fill this very sad time. Our thoughts & prayers are with you. Love, Angie & David

  5. Phil: I am so sorry about Mary’s passing. Steve and I have enjoyed knowing the two of you and have missed not seeing you at the firm functions. I had no idea that Mary had been ill and her death came as a complete shock. I will remember her as a delightful person and lots of fun to be around. She always had a twinkle in her eye (which I loved). It isn’t often you meet someone with such a quick wit and warm personality. Please accept my sympathy and I will keep you in my prayers. Pam Stark

  6. Mary was a wonderful person who was always a pleasure to talk with. If we could all have such a wonderful disposition and personality the world would be a much better place. I’m sorry that we will be traveling due to a prior commitment and unable to attend the service, Phil, but will be thinking of you and your family at this difficut time. May your many memories comfort you in the coming months and years. With Deepest Sympathy, Steve and Becky Clark

  8. Mary helped me get on with life after a bankruptcy over 10 years ago. I still keep the card she sent with a geico hanging precariously over the open alligator’s mouth with the caption ‘Hang in there.’ Her comment was to close that chapter in my life and get on with life. She will be missed. She was one in a million.

  9. We feel it has been a priviledge to know Mary and you, Phil, through WSU Basketball and Music Theatre. It was with much sorrow when we learned of her passing. She will be missed in many ways by many people. You have our deep sympathy and we pray God’s strength be with you and your family.

  10. Thinking of you at this time of your loss. Mary always put a smile on everyone’s face at the WSU baseball games! 🙂 She was a delight. May God keep you in his care and give you comfort each day. #7 Drew Moffitt and his family.

  11. Mary was a wonderful lady with a heart as big as the outdoors. She leaves some great memories for all that experienced her gift of caring and support. God Bless family and friends in knowing she is now in his care until we meet again. She will be missed by many.

  12. Mary was a wonderful friend, advisor and supporter. Her crisp thinking and candor were an asset to any discussion, and her heart was always in the right place. She will be missed.

  13. I met Mary in Dallas while working with the Haynes and Boone bankruptcy section. Years later, I moved to Wichita and worked at Fleeson, Gooing and got to know Mary again. I felt privileged to be asked by her to read and edit her unpublished novel, and was devastated to hear she passed away. I rallied with her when she was seeking the bankruptcy judge appointment and I was thrilled for her when she was appointed to the U.S. Bankruptcy Trustee’s post. I haven’t seen her in a few years but I will remember her well.
