Mary Lou Ross

October 22, 1938 ~ February 12, 2025
Mary Lou Ross, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully on February 12, leaving behind a legacy of love and kindness.
Born in Cottonwood Falls, Kansas, Mary Lou was the cherished wife of Hal Ross. She was a devoted mother to Brandi Stevens (Robert Cadman) and Tara Stevens, a loving grandmother to Alex Pelz and Austin Puetz, and a proud great-grandmother to Gracie Taylor, and Josie Pelz.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Wilma and Paul Brant; her brothers, Bill and Bob Brant; her niece, Paula Hollowell; ex-husband, George Stevens, Jr. She is survived by her niece, Della Bogety; and her nephews, Bill (Connie), Terry (Carolyn), and Gary (Pam) Brant. We will all miss her warmth and presence.
Mary Lou loved the Lord. Her life was one of dedication to her family and those she loved. She will be remembered for her unwavering kindness, her strength, and the joy she brought to those around her. Her memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
A service to honor Mary Lou’s life will be held at Plymouth Congregational Church on Tuesday, February 25 at 11:00 am.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in her memory to Wichita Children’s Home, Wounded Warrior Project, or Plymouth Congregational Church.
Services in care of Downing & Lahey East Mortuary.
I will always remember Mary Lou’s sweetness, energy and creativity. In our early years, we had great fun organizing fundraisers for several Wichita non-profits. Ballet and the arts were particularly dear to her heart. R.I.P., till we meet again.
Remembering you and “Mary Lou Ross” in our minds and in our hearts. Until we meet again, Della & Jim Bogaty
