Menne, Mary Louise, 90, passed away Thursday, May 11, 2006. Service 10:00 A.M., Saturday, May 13, Eastminster Presbyterian Church. Mary Louise was born August 16, 1915, in Joplin, Missouri to George and Lillian Connor. She was a graduate of Joplin High School and studied music at Pittsburgh State College in Pittsburgh, Kansas. She taught piano lessons and was active in Sigma Alpha Iota Music sorority. Mary Louise married Howard Menne on August 18, 1940. Together, from 1953 to 1986, they taught ballroom dance classes to hundreds of Wichita and surrounding area residents. Mary Louise was active in many civic organizations including the Wichita Art Association and her beloved PEO chapter. She was President of Hypatia Beta, the Twentieth Century Club and the Womens Society of the Wichita Symphony. She was preceded in death by her husband, Howard, and her brother, Jerry Connor. Survivors include Eric of Wichita, Alan of Simi Valley, CA and Emily Shaw of Denver. Memorial gifts may be made to Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice, 313 S. Market, Wichita, KS, 67202. Dear Emily, We are deeply saddened to hear of the loss of your mom, Mary Louise Menne. She sounded like such a wonderful and interesting person. What a full and fun life she must have lived! What wonderful memories Don and I have of many good times with your parents. We were very blessed to share a wonderful friendship and so saddened when your Dad passed away and than poor health not letting your mother continue her active life. Our sympathy toyou.
