Mary Yvonne Bosken

Mary Yvonne Bosken, affectionately known as Yvonne, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family on Friday, June 2, 2023 in Wichita, Kansas. Yvonne was a dedicated and loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend who touched the lives of many throughout her 86 years. Yvonne was born on November 16, 1936, in Springfield, Illinois to Justin and Agnes Wochner. She is preceded in death by her parents, Justin and Agnes Wochner, her brothers Joseph and Robert Wochner, and sister Helen Gorman. She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Eugene Bosken of Wichita, KS; her 4 children; Robert Bosken, Donald J (Trisha) Bosken Sr.; daughters, Barbara (Mark) Patterson, Cathy (Ron) Nuessen; 7 grandchildren, grandsons, Ryan (Chelsea) Patterson, Brandon Patterson, Donald J Bosken, Jr., Bryer Nuessen; granddaughters, Leann (Jordan) Holder, Shelby Lynn Bosken, Sydney Nuessen; and 2 great-granddaughters, Stella Patterson, Olivia Dawn Bosken. Yvonne enjoyed and served as a charter member of the West Acres Extension Homemakers Unit for many years with her beloved friends. Served on the PTA at her children’s school. Yvonne volunteered to help and serve others throughout her life for as long as she was able. She immensely loved her family. She would go to great lengths to cheer and support her grandchildren in their many sporting and school events. Wherever family was, is where Yvonne loved to be. Yvonne was a devout member of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, living her faith daily by her gracious example. In addition to her unwavering faith and kindness, Yvonne’s life impacted countless lives by always making others feel welcomed and loved. Her kindness resulting in countless moments of joy shared. She will be profoundly missed by all, but her memory lives on in the hearts of those who knew her. Memorials have been established with: Saint Francis of Assisi Catholic Church 861 N. Rosary will be at 7:00 pm, Wednesday, June 7, 2023, at Downing & Lahey West Mortuary; Funeral Mass, 10:00 am, Thursday, June 8, 2023 at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Wichita, KS, followed by entombment at Resurrection Cemetery Mausoleum.
