Matthew Hunt Amsden, 67, a Wichita native, passed away Saturday, July 16th, 2016, surrounded by his family. Matt was a loving father, son, and brother. His kindness and good nature made him a friend to many. He graduated from the University of Kansas with a degree in Journalism and had a long career in advertising and marketing. He was the Cessna Caravan Marketing Manager for over 20 years, where his job allowed him to travel to the places he loved, Mexico and South America. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed fishing, hunting and nature. He was proceeded in death by his parents, Floyd and Barbara Amsden. He is survived by his beloved family: daughters, Alexandra and Macy Amsden; sister, Ann Martin; brother, Timothy (Lucia) Amsden; ex-wife, Marla Amsden; and nieces and nephews. He will be greatly missed by all who loved him. His memorial service will be held at 11:00 am, Thursday, July 21, 2016 at Downing & Lahey Mortuary East. To honor his memory, in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Friends of Great Plains Nature Center, 6232 East 29th Street North, Wichita, Kansas 67220, or the charity of your choice.
