Murtha, Matthew John, 38, Airbus North America engineer, fought his battle against cancer with courage, strength and profound faith, and submitted to the will of God on Friday, November 12, 2010. Matthew was blessed with an insatiable thirst for knowledge. He enjoyed music and traveling with his wife. Rosary, 6 p.m., Thursday, November 18; Funeral Mass, 10:30 a.m., Friday, November 19, both at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church. Preceded in death by grandparents, Matthew and Ethel Murtha and John and Pauline Silc. Survivors: wife, Holly; son, Roman Murtha; parents, Joseph and Yvette Murtha; siblings, Yvonne Murtha (Thomas Hermann), Brendan Murtha (Jenny), Damian Murtha, Lorraine Murtha (Brandon Morgan), Eileen Murtha; 8 nieces and nephews and numerous friends and family. Memorial established with Catholic Charities Infant Adoption, 532 N. Broadway, Wichita, KS 67214. Downing Lahey Mortuary East.

Sorry to hear Matt has moved on. He was a good engineer and friend to all. I look forward to seeing him again in heaven.
I went to high school with Matt and was happy to find him on Facebook a couple of years ago. He was one of the smartest, funniest, kindest people I’ve ever met. I’ll always remember him for that.
