Matthew Robert Burroughs, 46, born in Tulsa, OK, to Bob and Deanna Burroughs, died Friday, September 2, 2022, in Wichita, KS.
Matt was a man of strong faith, a loving, devoted husband and father, a beloved son and friend, who filled many lives with love, joy, and laughter. He had a passion for sports and enjoyed playing with and coaching his children. Matt was an OU Sooner through and through; Boomer! He is deeply missed!
Matt is survived by his wife of 24 years, Cara (McCall) Burroughs; his five children, Ian, Isaac, Ilese, Imerson and Imelia, all of the home; his parents, Bob and Deanna Burroughs of Grandview; sisters, Emily Mobley, Andi Welch, Jennifer Museousky; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.
Rosary will be 7:00 pm, Tuesday, September 6, 2022, Funeral Mass will be 10:30 am, Wednesday, September 7, 2022, both at St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church. In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established with: St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church, 3642 N. Ridge Rd, Wichita, KS 67205. Services in care of Downing & Lahey West Mortuary. Matt and i grew up together through church and had many great times enjoying youth events and challenging each other on the basketball court. I’ll never forget you friend. Love and prayers to the family. Jason McCray
I had the pleasure to get to know Matt over 20 years at Koch. And lucky for us our families also got to know each other through church for the last 15. Matt was a great person to chat with. Could be at work in the hallway or after mass over a donut and coffee. He will be greatly missed. He helped raise 5 wonderful kids and I expect he will continue to watch over and guide them over the years to come.
