Dobbins, Mercedes “Mercy”, 86, retired Vice President of Strongs, Inc. went to be with the Lord on Saturday, November 5, 2011. Visitation with the family will be 5 ~ 7 p.m., Tuesday, November 8 with funeral service 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, November 9, both at Downing Lahey East Chapel. Mercy graduated from East High School in 1942 and attended Ottawa University. She was inducted into the Kansas Oil and Gas Museum in 2011. Mercy was preceded in death by her husband Max of 46 years and an infant daughter. Survivors: daughters, Patricia of Wichita and Jann Wisdom (Doug) of Houston, TX; son, Mike Dobbins (Lisa) of Austin, TX; brothers, David McCutheon (Marge), Gary McCutcheon (B.J.) both of Wichita, and Clyde McClucheon (Leanna) of Flanders, NJ; 3 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. A memorial has been established with First Baptist Church Organ Fund, 216 E. 2nd, Wichita, KS, 67202.

Mercy was someone very special, she was a mentor and a good friend whom I’ve had the pleasure of knowing for many years. Mercy meant a lot of many people. I will miss her, and my deepest sympathy and thoughts go to her family.
I’m very sorry to hear of Mercy’s passing. She was a good friend to me and I will miss her. She was truly the kindest person I’ve ever known.
Patricia and Family, We were saddened to hear of your Mother’s death. I know it will be hard for you because you have cared for her for many years. I pray God’s blessing and comfort for you as you go through this valley. May God grant you his grace and his peace.
