Mervyn Webster

Mervyn Webster, loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, coach, and friend, passed away at the age of 67 on February 10, 2017, in Dallas, Texas. Mervyn was born on September 20, 1949, in Bloemfontein, South Africa, and spent most of his life in Wichita, Kansas. His talent and determination in tennis led him to Wichita State University, where he met the love of his life, Anetta Shockey. Their journey together richened many lives, spread the love of tennis and friendship, and made the world a kinder place. Mervyn shared his passion for tennis with countless people and served as a wonderful role model. He was devoted to his family and cherished the time he spent with his daughters and granddaughters. He is known for his work ethic, dedication, and generosity. He is survived by his daughters, Kimberly (Rob) DeWitt, Traci Webster (Lawrence Cosby), and Wendi (Michael) Green; granddaughters, Ella and Hadley DeWitt; mother-in-law, Mary Ellen Shockey; brothers-in-law, Duane (Pam) Shockey, Leonard Shockey and Greg Starr. Memorial service will be held Friday, February 17, at 10 a.m. at Chapel Hill United Methodist Church, Wichita, Kansas. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Alzheimers Association, P.O.
