Michael Edward Schmidt, of Wichita, KS, born March 4, 1973, passed away on September 18, 2025.
Michael graduated from Kapaun Mt. Carmel High School in the Class of 1991. He went on to attend Kansas State University and Friends University, where he studied business. He spent 20 years with the Chicken Poop company, where he used his knowledge of business to help market and grow the company alongside his family. Michael loved his family deeply. He also cherished the time he spent with his many lifelong friends, whom he considered to be like family. In his free time, Michael enjoyed playing golf, traveling, and being with the people he loved. He especially cherished his trips to Puerto Vallarta. Michael lived a full and blessed life.
Michael is survived by his parents, Ken and Norma Schmidt; his sister, Gretchen Connolly (Jeffrey); and his brothers, Eric Schmidt (Jamie), Mark Schmidt (Kathy), and Kurt Schmidt (Jessica). He was a beloved uncle to 10 nieces and nephews (one deceased) and 4 great-nieces and nephews.
The Rosary will be held on Monday, September 29, at 9:30 a.m. at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, followed immediately by the Funeral Mass at 10:00 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorials have been established with the St. Vincent de Paul Society at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, 124 N. Roosevelt, Wichita, KS 67208; Wichita Wrestling Club, 2501 N. Rosemont St., Wichita, KS 67228.

My sincere condolences on the passing of Michael. So many memories of our Dellrose Ave. shenanigans with sweet Michael always in tow. I’ve no doubt that the angels heralded his arrival at the pearly gates. Another lovely and kind soul gone much too soon.
