Michael Francis Smith

Smith, Michael Francis, 59, passed away Tuesday, December 9, 2014. Mike was born August 1, 1955 to Frank and Vada Mae Willson Smith in Fredonia, Kansas. Mike graduated from Emporia State University and spent 35 years as a teacher and coach, most of which was in the Andover school district. Mike was most happy when he was outside, either gardening, mowing, or at his “Lodge.” He loved his family, friends and faithful dog, Jack. He was preceded in death by his parents and two infant brothers, Donald and David. Mike is survived by his wife, Suzie; daughters, Dakota and Jordann, of the home; sisters, Debby (Terry) Boren of Augusta, Janet (Chuck) Neuenschwander of Fredonia, Pam (Greg) Stice of Burlington, Patty (Leroy) Lenning of Baldwin, Becky Currier of El Dorado, Angie (Rick) Postier of Skiatook, OK; brother Greg Smith of Andover; 13 nieces and nephews; 15 great nieces and nephews. Rosary will be at 7:00 P.M., Friday, December 12, 2014, at Church of the Magdalen. Graveside Service will be at 10:00 A.M., Saturday, December 13, 2014, at Sacred Heart Cemetery, Fredonia, KS. Funeral Mass will be at 1:00 P.M., Saturday, December 13, 2014, at Church of the Magdalen. A memorial has been established with Church of the Magdalen, 12626 E. 21st St. N., Wichita, KS 67206.
