Unrein, Michael A., 61, retired Boeing telecommunication analyst, passed away Thursday, July 7, 2011, after a 6 year battle with cancer. Preceded in death by father, Alvin W. Unrein and brother, Gerald L. Unrein. Survived by wife of 38 years, Jewell; sons, Brandon (Amy) and Jason (Lara); daughter, Jennifer; granddaughter, Ashley; mother, Wilma M. (Cross) Unrein; sisters, Christine M. Unrein, Theresa A. Larsen (Ron), Joanne L. Friederich, Peggy R. Griffith (Frank) and brother, Steven P. Unrein (Sara). Rosary, 7pm, Monday, July 11 at Downing and Lahey East; Funeral Mass 10am, Tuesday, July 12 at Church of the Magdalen. A memorial has been established with Angel Flight, Inc., 1515 East 71st Street, Ste. 312, Tulsa, OK 74136. Rosary service 7:00 P.M. Monday at Downing Lahey Mortuary East.

  1. Jewell and Family, Virg and I wish to express our sincere condolences on your loss! We were talking to your Mom and Glenda after 5 o’clock church a week ago and were told about Mike’s long fight with cancer. We will keep him and you all in our prayers! Sincerely, Virgil and Carol Stinson

  2. My best friend for forty years. Some one who was always there when I needed him. I am sorry he had to suffer for so long, but he was a fighter to the end. I will miss him always.

  3. Mikey was such a great friend to my Dad (Perry Duncan), and offered my husband and I great advice on several occasions. He was a wonderful, kind person, and our whole family will miss him.

  4. Mike was always Happy, and Hard working The world lost an excellent friend ;-( But I know Mike He is currently planning a upgrade to Heavens cable infrastructure. Chin up; we will all see him again 😉

  5. Mike had such a gentle spirit and was always willing to help a neighbor. He helped us wire our entire house when we joined the neighborhood. He always had a smile on his face when we visited at neighborhood picnics and dinners. We will miss him.

  6. We are so sorry for your loss. Mike will be missed. Our prayers go out to Jewell and their children. We will keep all of you in our prayers.
