Michelle Lee Mosley

December 16, 1984 ~ August 26, 2018
Michelle Lee Mosley, 33, of Wichita, KS passed away peacefully at Wesley Medical Center the morning August 26th. She was surrounded by her brothers, Ryan and Patrick, Patricks wife Kara, her close friends and coworkers. Michelle was born on December 16th, 1984, in Salina, KS. Her parents, John and Kathy Mosley, lovingly brought her home that day to Wichita and raised a living angel. Michelle went to The Independent School all twelve years where she was involved with the choir, the drama department, played softball, and played volleyball. Michelle was also heavily involved volunteering at Wesley Medical Center throughout high school. What Michelle lacked in stature, she made up for in her generosity, ability to love others and size of her helping heart. Michelle graduated from Creighton University in Omaha, NE in 2008 with a BS in Nursing. She moved back to Wichita where she immediately came back to work at Wesley Medical Center in the Pediatric ER Department as a Registered Nurse. After eight years of that, she transferred to the Forensic Nursing Department as a SANE/SART Nurse, continuing her good work on the front-line of caring for every soul in her path. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Kansas Humane Society, 3313 N. Hillside, Wichita, KS 67219; Take Back the Night Foundation, takebackthenight.org; and to The Independent School, 8317 E. Douglas Ave., Wichita, KS 67207. Michelle is survived by her brothers, Ryan and Patrick (Kara), and by her parents, John and Kathy, all family of Wichita, KS. She is also survived by her coworkers, adoptive Wesley Family and the love she gave to countless children, adults and souls of and still at Wesley Medical Center. We could not have asked for a better sister, daughter, and friend; We have not known a kinder soul. Rosary will be at 6:30 pm, Friday, September 21, 2018; Funeral Mass will be at 10:30 am, Saturday, September 22, 2018, both at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church. Downing & Lahey East Mortuary.
I am so sad to hear this news about Michelles passing. I remember how caring she was as a third grader and reading here how she touched the lives around her makes me smile. My prayers are with the entire Mosley family.
Beautiful soul, amazing Nurse and Co-worker!
You will be missed by all who know you. I remember your first day at Wesley and it was rewarding to watch you grow and stretch as a care giver.
Gone to soon, but not forgotten.
It was a honor to work with Michelle. She was a spectacular nurse and an even more amazing person.
Michelle always had a smile to share and an upbeat step in her walk. She was a pleasure to work beside and a great example of how compassion and empathy can add to the care of a patient and a human.
You will be missed!
Michelle was a sweet angel and the world was a better place with her in it. She will be missed.
My deepest sympathies.
My heart is breaking. Michelle will be missed so much. I wish I had told her more often how much I admired her career path and choices.
May You Rest in the arms of Jesus! Rest well young Hero.
I had the privilege of being Sweet Michelles 3rd grade reading teacher. She was both pretty and kind. May her beautiful soul rest for eternity with Jesus. Im so saddened by hearing of the loss of this sweet young woman. My condolences go out to her family

I was so sorry to hear about Michelle. Although I did not know her very long I remember her as a sweet girl.
We are so terribly sorry. Will be praying for all Michelles family and friends.
Michelle, I cant believe you are gone. I have cried many times since I heard the news. I met you the first day I started at Independent, and I dont have too many memories from high school where you werent standing right next to me. We had so many amazing dinner dates, sleepovers, and school dances together. You taught me how to wear makeup, and convinced me to go to my first play. We shared so many secrets, and talked about our hopes and dreams. I still have our friendship necklace packed away somewhere safe. To this day, I think of you when I hear people discussing the Nutcracker, anything theater related, Jazzercise, and of course Creighton! What I am going to miss most about you is your laugh—It was as unique and beautiful as you! I am so proud of the person you became. Heaven gained a beautiful soul, but we are going to miss your grace, kindness, and generosity. My thoughts and prayers go to your family during this difficult time. You were, and you will always be, so loved!
Michelle really brightened my days at Wesley. Her smile was contagious. She will be missed, but never forgotten. My thoughts and prayers are with you.
Michelle was always a light in our evening shifts in the ER. Smart, funny, and loving to the kids. We would enjoy conversations between the chaos. I will truly miss this great nurse and colleague. May the angels of God surround you and your family. Prayers for all friends and families.
We wish our words could ease your sadness. Know that we are so sorry for your loss.

Patrick and Ryan, you wont remember me, you were both so small when I baby sat you two and your sister, but I watched Michelle from the time she was just a baby until I left for college. What a smart, brave, sweet girl she was. She was so helpful and protective with you two when I came to watch you all. I loved the Mosley family. I was so delighted when I ran into your folks years later and learned shed gone into nursing. The news of her passing is unbearable. I dont have anything to say that could possibly make this hurt less for you or your lovely parents. I can only say how lucky we all were to have known her. So very lucky.
John and Family:

Dear Kathy and John,
I am so sad for you and your family. Please know that you are in my thoughts and prayers during this most difficult time.
Peace be with you.
Blessings to you and yours John & Kathy. May Michelle Rest In Peace.
I am so sorry to hear of this profound loss for your family. I cant even imagine what you must be feeling right now, but you are in my thoughts and I hope you can find your way through this together.
I remember 33 years ago when Kathy called and said, ‘Are you sitting down?’ She and John had just found out that they were the lucky ones to be Michelles Mom and Dad. God sent her to loving arms and she gave back all the love that was given to her. Such an infectious smile that little girl had and I see it in her beautiful picture here too. Years later when I called to say hello, sometimes Michelle would answer the phone. She would always have a sweet conversation with me and tell me what was going on in the Mosley house. Hugs and prayers to John, Kathy, Ryan and Patrick. Love, Cathy

So loved working with Michelle! Many late nights of laughing and sarcasm and fun! Ill always remember when she said she desired to join Sane/Sart!! So glad she did!!!! Love, prayers and hugs to all!! So very very sorry for this pain.
Having worked with Michelle through the SANE/SART program at Wesley, I was always impressed with her dedication and thoroughness in everything she did. She went out of her way to help and comfort her patients and their families. I know there were tough times when emotions sometimes ran high, but she was always able to take the high road and do the right thing for the patient. I am so grateful for the opportunity to have worked with Michelle and am saddened for your family at such a difficult time. Please know that she will not be forgotten, but will live on in the memories of those she touched.
Please accept our deepest condolences for your family’s loss.
