Midge Slupianek, 81, of Wichita, KS, passed away peacefully on August 2, 2024. She was born on March 3, 1943, to Fred and Emma Malburg. She grew up with three sisters, Velma, Inez, and Eileen, who preceded her in death. Midge married Norris “Slup” Slupianek on May 5, 1990, and they shared 34 years of love and happiness. She was a devoted mother to Debbie McCurry, and a proud grandmother to Tyler McCurry (Paige) and Courtney McCurry. She loved spending time with her family and friends, and enjoyed traveling, reading and being at the pool side. Midge had a successful career in banking until she retired in 2000 to spend time with her grandchildren. She was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic church. She touched many lives with her smile and her humor and will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Visitation will be from 5:00 - 7:00 pm, Thursday, August 8, 2024, at Downing & Lahey East Mortuary. Funeral Service will be at 10:00 am, Friday, August 9, 2024, at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Lakeview Cemetery. The family would like to thank the staff of Good Shepherd Hospice for their compassionate care and support. Memorials have been established with St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, 123 N.     Midge had the most infectious smile that would light up any room. She lived each day to the fullest with many trips and adventures. She was loved by many. We have so many great memories of her over the years.

    I was so sorry to hear of Midge’s illness and passing. I have very fond memories of Midge, ever time I saw her she was smiling, cheerful and had such a positive outlook on life. She could cheer up a whole room. She always had a funny story to tell about you, or Debbie and the kids. I know she will continue to look after each of you.
