Service is 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, January 19, at Downing Lahey Mortuary East. Survivors: son, Ron Laird (Cheryl) of Wichita; daughter, Linda Hannon (Joe) of Wichita; 5 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren. I was saddened to read of the death of Mildred. She was such a vital and energetic person. She was always working whether it was raking her yard clearing away the dead leaves making way for spring growth or making phone calls trying to sell the latest face cream for Luzier Cosmetics. Mildred was always friendly and interested in the lives of her customers. She will be very much missed. I loved her independent spirit and she was a real inspiration to me. I looked forward to seeing her each month. She had such a passion for what she did.
