Memories Timeline

Guestbook

  1. My deepest sympathies to you Marc and Steven and your families. Monie was a wonderful woman. I will always remember how welcome I felt in her lovely home, her sense of humor, her many talents and her spectacular peach pie! May she Rest In Peace. God bless you all.

  2. For several years, I lived across the fence from Monie and Schaf. In fact, my tomatoes were directly across from hers, but hers always looked way better! As a bachelor, I especially liked the evenings when she ‘accidentally’ cooked too much dinner or dessert. I always was happy to help her out! Family and friends will certainly miss her here in this place, but I take comfort to think of the glorious heavenly reunion that took place on her birthday; mind, body, and spirit restored and every tear wiped from every eye.

  3. Monie, Mrs. Schaffer of course, was part of my childhood memories. The kind next door neighbor who always had a warm smile and twinkle in her eye if she saw me playing in our driveway. She sent me a postcard from your family vacation to the NEW Seattle Space Needle and worlds fair! When tornado sirens blew late at night, our family ran over to your basement as we had none. We would move around the corner on Edgemont, but always knew Schaffers were still there on Bluff. Im sorry someone so special had to battle Parkinsons. Mark and Steve, I know my mom and dad thought so much of her too. I can only imagine what her grandchildren felt!

  4. Dear Steve and Marc, I am so very sorry I will be unable to attend your mothers funeral service this morning as Im at home in a bad cold/flu situation. My thoughts, prayers and wonderful memories go out to you as you mourn such a loss and celebrate the life of someone I admired so much. Monie was the best neighbor ever when my husband John and I lived next door and started our family in the little house on N. Bluff. I loved communicating with her at Christmastime for over 50 years. My sincere sympathies to you and your families. Im grateful for the forever memories.
