Morrigan Rose Miller

May 13, 1999 ~ January 17, 2020
Morrigan Rose Miller, 20, passed away January 17, 2020. Morrigan, a talented artist, singer and writer, was born at St. Francis Hospital in Wichita, Kansas, to her parents Michelle Renee Dreiling and Scott Leslie Miller. Her big sister, Mackenzie Rain Miller, was eleven months old at the time. Later, Mackenzie and Morrigan had three more siblings: Macy Rhiannon Miller, Skylar Scott Miller and Sierra Renee Cantrell. Morrigan was the second oldest of these five children at home. Scott married Terra Wilson Miller and they gave her another little sister, Khloi Ruth May Miller, and two step-brothers, Kobi and Kalib Wilson. She is also survived by her maternal grandparents, Gerald Dreiling of Hoisington, Kansas and Kathelia Baldwin of Goddard, Kansas. Her paternal grandparents, Marvin and Karen Miller, along with her Uncle Justin, met her at the gates of Heaven along with other family, friends, and pets whom she loved greatly. Morrigan went to Eisenhower High school where she took part in cheer, track, forensics and choir. She placed in state vocal contests and earned musical and academic scholarships to Newman University where she would study pre-medicine and sing as a troubadour. She also took an interest in musical theater, loved to create stage art and makeup and performed in several of her schools’ shows. Morrigan’s talents were recognized when she was invited to sing at Carnegie Hall twice and to also attend a youth leadership conference in medicine. Morrigan was both a scientist and an artist. She loved how the two intertwined and had a deep love of learning. She was also a fierce environmentalist, loved caring for plants and trees and always encouraged everyone to “Think Green”. She loved to spend time in the mountains of Colorado and go to concerts at Red Rocks. She felt most at home in the forest and with animals. She was deeply rooted in connection to the earth and found comfort in nature and with all its creatures. She could not sit in a room with a plant that looked sad and not get up and water and care for it. Morrigan loved all of God’s creatures and loved her time as a boarding tech at a local veterinary hospital. She knew all the animals’ names and natures and could tame even the angriest beasts. She was forever picking up strays and loving them until she found their owners or a new home. Morrigan was a friend to anyone who struggled, always helping others. Her smile and laugh absolutely lit up the entire room. Her witty and sarcastic humor will be greatly missed by everyone whose lives she touched. A Celebration of Life Service will be 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, January 28, at Central Community Church Chapel, 6100 West Maple, Wichita, Kansas. Because of Morrigan’s great love of learning, a memorial has been established to help with her siblings’ education. Donations may be made payable to Michelle Dreiling, c/o Meritrust Credit Union for The Morrigan Miller Memorial Fund, 13710 W. Maple, Wichita, Kansas 67235 or at any Meritrust Branch. Arrangements by Downing & Lahey Mortuary West.

My words will never be enough to express the sorrow I feel for your loss. Those we love don’t really go away. Morrigan will walk beside you everyday. She will be the song of a bird, the gentle breeze of the wind, the warmth of the sun on your face, the kiss of a raindrop on your cheek, the glowing colors of a rainbow and the scent of her favorite flower. My deepest sympathies to all who loved her.

You and your family are in my thoughts and Prayers..I love you all
As parents we come to care for and love our kids friends. This precious girl was no exception. She was so silly and would make us laugh so hard. She was a ray of sunshine whenever she was around. She was that friend that when she was hanging out with the kids I’d go plop down and chat and laugh with them cause she was just so much fun. We’d talk about whatever and she was always so animated. This sweet genuine kind soul will be missed by so many. She was an angel on earth long before she ever went to heaven. Please accept our most heart felt condolences from The Wontorski family. Morrigan has a special place in our hearts and will be missed immensely. Praying for your sweet family.
