Morris Lee “Bob” Whitney, 85, passed away Thursday, September 16, 2021. Rosary, 7:00 pm, Tuesday, September 21, 2021; Funeral Mass, 10:00 am, Wednesday, September 22, 2021, both at St. Anne Catholic Church. Bob was the retired owner of J&J Tire Company, a longtime member of St. Anne Catholic Church, and a member of the Knights of Columbus. Preceded in death by his parents, Morris and Doris Whitney; grandson, Tyler Whitney; 3 brothers and 1 sister. Survivors: wife, Cherryl; daughter, Teresa (John) McGreevy of Keller, TX; sons, Robert (Charlotte) Whitney of Derby, Steven (Jill) Whitney and Timothy (Janene) Whitney all of Wichita; 12 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren. Memorial established with Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice, 313 S. Market, Wichita, KS 67202. Downing & Lahey Mortuary West.

Bob was a loving family man. I remember him having roses sent to Cheryl for their anniversary. So special.
Dear Cherryl and children, So sad to learn of Bob’s passing. What a guy, what a man, and what a friend. I probably never told him that I loved him, but I did. I thought the world of him, you Cherryl, and all of your children. I’ve missed seeing the two of you this past year or so and enjoying Bob’s jovial personality. My prayers are with the bunch of you and may his soul rest in peace with our Dear Lord.
