Myrtle C. Fisher

Fisher, Myrtle C., 89, entered eternal life Friday, January 31, 2014. Rosary service will be 7:00 P.M., Monday, February 3, at Downing Lahey Mortuary East and the Funeral Mass will be 10:00 A.M., Tuesday, February 4, 2014, at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church. Myrtle was born in Hoisington, KS, and attended a one room school house for 8 years, starting at the age of 4 in the 1st grade. After graduating from Hoisington H.S., she remained at home for 2 years to help her father with their farm. She moved to Wichita, graduated from Wichita Business College and worked as a secretary for the Sales Manager at Fox-Vliet and later as secretary to the Division Manager at Service Pipeline. Myrtle married Daniel J. Fisher in 1952 and together they lovingly raised four children. She obtained her Insurance License in 1983 and worked in her sons agency for 15 years. She loved bowling, dancing, traveling, and volunteering at her church. Myrtle was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt and friend and will be dearly missed by all. Survived by her loving husband of 61 years, Daniel; children, Gery Fisher (Jacque), Sharon Schroeder (Mark), Dennis Fisher, and Janice McLain (Norman); grandchildren, Preston (Lauren), Jennifer, Harrison, Julie (Thad), Joseph (Kari), Jeremiah, Colby, Landon, and Catherine; great-grandchildren, Eden and Rorrian.
