Ellington, Nelda Lee, 76, homemaker, volunteer and retired entrepreneur, died Saturday, June 14, 2014. A memorial service will be held Thursday, June 19, 2014, 10:00 A.M. at St. James Episcopal Church. She was born in Emporia, Kansas, August 3, 1937 and married the love of her life, Howard W. Ellington on September 5, 1959. Nelda was a devoted wife, mother, sister and friend. Nelda is survived by her husband, Howard W. Ellington; sons, Howard W. Ellington II (Amy), Eric John Ellington, Craig Alan Ellington (Kelli); and daughter, Amy Lee Ellington-Reep (Danny); brother, Terry Newlin (Janet); grandchildren, Cristin (Jake McCune), Jamie, Trey and Shannon Ellington; JohnWesley and Corrie Ellington; Austin, Stevan and Olivia Ellington; Ryan, Hailee and Sara Reep; two great-grandchildren, Mason and Reed McCune; numerous nieces and nephews. She was a member of St. James Episcopal Church, serving on Bell Choir, Daughters of the King and Alter Guild. Nelda was an active member and volunteer, for the Wichita Center for the Arts, Volunteer Coordinator for the Allen-Lambe House Museum, founding member of the Needlers Quilting group. A memorial fund has been established at St. James Episcopal Church, 3750 E. Douglas Ave., Wichita, KS 67208, for the installment of further columbarium niches. Downing Lahey East Mortuary.
