Walls, Nettie Kaye Jane (Wolley) aged 99, passed away January 23, 2007 at Larksfield Place in Wichita, Kansas. She was born August 26, 1907 six miles north of Medoc, KS. Her mother was Minnie Wilhemina (Sebert) Wolley and her father was Charles Seth Wolley. She married Henry Briggs Walls March 17, 1929. They initially lived in Dodge City, KS. They soon moved to Garden City, KS where they operated Walls IGA Grocery Store for many years. They also bought and operated Dillons Supermarket in Garden City. They had one child Lois Kay Walls who attended Kansas University. In the 1950s they moved to Wichita, KS where together with their daughter they acquired grocery stores they named Walls IGA located at Mt. Vernon, Riverside, Broadway, Eastridge and Kenmar. The Walls family was active in the Presbyterian Church in Garden City and Grace Presbyterian Church in Wichita. They traveled extensively. After the passing of her daughter Kay in 1973 and her husband Briggs in 1990, Nettie moved to Larksfield Place where she lived until she passed away. Nettie was predeceased by her parents, her husband, her daughter, a brother Henry Wolley, a sister Olive (Wolley) Baker, two half sisters Johanna Brock and Pauline (Brock) Batchelder and two half brothers Lewis and John Brock. Also predeceasing Nettie are a nephew George Baker, half nephews Guy Batchelder II, Alva Batchelder, Henry Batchelder and Theodore Batchelder and half nieces Pauline (Batchelder) Timmons, Mary (Batchelder) Largent and Emma (Batchelder) Thompson. She has one living nephew, Duane Wolley, two living half nephews Milo and Wilbur Batchelder and two living half nieces Lottie (Batchelder) Gill and Betty (Batchelder) Woods. Nettie also has many grand, grand grand and grand grand grand full and half nephews and nieces. There will be a private interment of Nettie at the Mission Chapel Mausoleum in Wichita where her beloved husband and daughter are also buried. There will be a memorial open to all friends and family at 11 am on Friday, February at Larksfield Place which is located 7373 East 29th Street in Wichita. There will no viewing for Nettie. Nettie was a great lover of dogs so that instead of flowers it is suggested that you make a donation in memory of Nettie to your favorite pet rescue group if you so desire.
