Nicholas Wilson

Wilson, Nick, 78, retired Meteorologist, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family March 28, 2014. Memorial Service will be 1:00 P.M., Tuesday, April 1, 2014, at Downing Lahey Mortuary East. Nick proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy for 5 years and retired from the National Weather Service. He loved his KU Jayhawks, KC Chiefs and KC Royals. His many hobbies included gardening and woodworking. Preceded in death by his son, Jeff Wilson; parents, Audrey and Paul Wilson, and brother, Rod Wilson. Survived by his wife of 53 years, Joan; daughters, Kelley Vess of Wichita, Tracey (John) Denne of Leawood; step-daughter, Pam (Jim) Morris and family of Mukilteo, WA; grandchildren, Hannah and Parker Denne; sister, Paula (John) McKenzie of Wichita, Linda (Jerry) Mourer of Batesville, AR, Jan Newman of Wichita; brother, Kip (Anita) Wilson of San Antonio, TX and many loving nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
