Owen Neil “ONO” OLeary, 88, died peacefully in his home December 18, 2012 in Wichita, KS surrounded by family. Born on November 20, 1924 in Pittsburgh, PA. Veteran of World War II, Pacific Theatre. Upon returning, earned BS and MS in Civil Engineering from University of New Mexico and MBA from Wichita State University. Met and married Mary Sue Jaggers on May 20, 1947 in Bernalillo, NM after a whirlwind 8-week romance. Moved to Wichita, worked for 50 years as engineer for Boeing and Cessna. Also taught at various levels of education. Active member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, longtime political volunteer. Preceded in death by son, William King “Billy” OLeary; brothers, Raymond, Eugene and Frank; sisters, Rosemary OLeary and Daphne Cotter; and son-in-law, Lawrence Kurtz. Survived by wife, Mary Sue; children Denise OLeary-Siemer (Dick), Debra OLeary-Kurtz; Michael OLeary; Mary OLeary (Jim Meckel); Teresa OLeary Carvalho (Mark); Rosie Brogan (Tim); 14 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren; brothers, John and Andrew; sisters, Elaine Crane and Maureen McLain. Rosary and visitation with the family 7:00 P.M. Friday, December 21, 2012, at Downing Lahey Mortuary East. Funeral Mass will be 10:00 A.M. Saturday, December 22, 2012, at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, Andover, KS.
