Patricia Hein

Patricia Hein, also known to friends and family as Patti, passed away on November 6, 2018, at the age of 69. Services will be held in early 2019. In recent years Patti had enjoyed her retirement. She was born and raised in Hillsboro, KS and graduated from Tabor College. She was an avid football fan yet loved all sports. Her favorite teams were the KC Chiefs and the KC Royals, and she loved Tabor College football. Patti enjoyed visiting Hillsboro and watching her cousins children play sports. Patti was a member of the First Mennonite Brethren Church in Wichita and enjoyed working with the young children in the nursery as well as singing in the choir. Patti truly embraced her German roots and enjoyed baking peppernuts and making borscht and enjoying other traditional German foods. She had many friends and loved spending time with them. Patti also loved her pets. She had many cats over the years, but she absolutely adored her dog Ricky and cat Sweetpea. Preceded in death by her father, Rev. Marvin Hein; her younger sister, Penelope Hein-Unruh. Survived by her mother, Mary Helen Hein of Fresno, CA; sister, Holly Hein-Taylor (Scott); nephew, Jake Taylor of Aptos, CA; niece, Whitney Marie Hein-Unruh of Los Angeles, CA. Patricia Hein was a very dear friend and will be deeply missed.
Oh Ms. Patti you will be missed. Patti took care of my son in our church nursery. She was a very important part of our lives especially during those years. As her health failed we noticed she was missing more and more. Wonderful caring women she was. A sweet soul indeed.
I enjoyed getting to know Patti, especially visiting with her at Tabor football games. She was such a bubbly, friendly person with a great smile! She will be remembered with fondness.
