Patricia J. Bevan

Patricia “Pat” Jay (Wiggins) Bevan, 84, died on Friday, April 5, 2013 at Park West Plaza where she had resided for the last three years. Pat was born on October 6, 1928 in Wichita. Her parents were Mable (Williams) and Jay Arthur Wiggins. Pat attended Wichita schools, graduating from North High in 1946. She attended Wichita University for two years and then worked at Standard Products and Cessna Aircraft while her husband completed his education. She worked until she was expecting their first child. Thereafter, she was a full time mother, homemaker and volunteer until she developed Alzheimers Disease which resulted in her move to Park West Plaza. Pat is survived by her husband of 62 years, Herbert E. Bevan, Jr.; children, Dr. Herbert E. Bevan III (Renee) of Smithfield, VA and Dr. Jay P. Bevan (Jayna) of Missouri City, TX. She is also survived by eight grandchildren, Jason Marsteller, Megan Stueven, Amy Bevan, Jenny Bevan, Katie Bevan, John Pastorius, Michelle Bevan, Michael Bevan, and great-grandson, Cooper Stueven. Pat was preceded in death by her daughter, Judy Burris. Memorial services will be held at 10 a.m., Saturday, April 13 in the sanctuary of First Presbyterian Church.
