Korte, Pauline Cecilia Schippers, 86, died Monday, June 9, 2014. She was born July 8, 1927 in Colwich, Kansas. She was the daughter of John and Teresa Schippers of Colwich, Kansas. Living siblings include: Alice Meysing, Elmer Schippers, and Thelma Moore. Deceased siblings include: Aletha Smit, Bernice Saxon, Dorothy Engels, Betty Umshied, Lawrence Schippers, Clarence Schippers, Clayton Schippers, Jerome Schippers, Eddie Schippers, Johnny Schippers, and Frances Schippers. Pauline was married to now deceased Herman G. Korte for over 60 years. They raised four children on a family farm near Rose Hill, Kansas. Their children are Iva Lee (John) Lorimor, Steve (Mary) Korte, Rhonda Korte, and Tom (Rhonda) Korte. Grandchildren include: Kelly Korte, Chris Korte, Jonathan Goodwin, Katie Barton, Zoe Phelps, Mya Phelps, and Eleanor Korte. Pauline was also blessed with five great grandchildren. Pauline was a devoted mother and hard working farm woman that could do just about anything. Her mechanical, sewing, and cooking skills were amazing. Her children always delighted in her apple and chocolate pie. Pauline led the quilting group at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church for many years. Her Catholic faith was very strong and a comfort to her. Pauline also had quite a business sense on buying and selling real estate. She also worked in the air craft industry for a few years. There is no doubt that Pauline is on her way to heaven as she was an angel on earth. Rosary will be at 7:00 P.M., Thursday, June 12, 2014; Funeral Mass will be at 10:00 A.M., Friday, June 13, 2014, both at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, Andover, KS. A memorial has been established with the St. Vincent de Paul Quilting Group, 123 N. Andover Rd., Andover, KS 67002. Downing Lahey East Mortuary.
