On June 10, 2025, we lost Peggy Wheeler, who was a cherished wife, sister, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She passed away peacefully at home at the age of 88. Peggy protected her children, guided their growth, supported their endeavors, and celebrated their efforts. She provided comfort and inspiration to her family, and her wisdom, experience, strength, compassion, and bravery encouraged and empowered those she loved. Peggy treasured her children and their children, who brought her tremendous joy. Peggy devoted her life to her husband, her faith, and the care and development of all her children; she championed their pursuits. Peggy dedicated her efforts to promoting their independence, respect for others, and kindness without boundaries. Peggy’s service, selflessness, and sacrifice are memorialized in the legacy of her flourishing family. Most of all, Peggy’s kindness and generosity have made an indelible impact on all of us, and her gentility and thoughtfulness will be greatly missed. Peggy is preceded in death by her children, Richard “Rick” Wheeler, Vincent Wheeler, and Mary Katherine Wheeler; her brother, Ralph Rudy; and her parents: Arthur and Alice “Gene” Rudy. Peggy is survived by her husband, Richard Wheeler; her children, Stephen Wheeler, Julie Lienhard, Karen Frye, and Jennifer Wheeler; her grandchildren, Melissa Jarvis, Bridget Hightower (Tom), Hannah Lienhard, Joseph Lienhard (Tristin), Daniel Lienhard (Lucy), Samantha Rice (Colton), Madison Frye, Kennedy Frye, Tripp Morrison, Wheeler Morrison, and Tate Morrison; her great-grandchildren, Brooke Hightower, Blair Hightower, Wesley Lienhard, and Bodhi Rice; and her sister, Patricia Ann Rudy-Baese. The Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 14, 2025, at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, 124 N. Roosevelt St., Wichita, Kansas.
