Phillip "Phil" Walker, 80, Husband, Father, Grandpa, Boppa, Brother, retired founder and CEO of WALCO Hydraulics, Inc., passed away at home, Thursday, September 2, 2021, from complications of a head injury resulting from a fall. Rosary, 7:00 p.m., Thursday, September 9; Funeral Mass, 10:00 a.m., Friday, September 10, 2021, both at Church of the Magdalen Catholic Church. The Funeral Mass will be live streamed and available to watch by clicking "Watch Event" below. Inurnment will follow at 2:00 p.m., in St. Mary’s Catholic Church-Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Moline, KS. Phil was born on Easter Sunday at home on April 13, 1941, in Moline, Kansas to the late Damain Phillip and Frances Orien (Hill) Walker. He earned his Bachelor’s at Pittsburg State College and taught high school for 2 years in Riverton, KS. He went on to earn his Master’s in Business Administration at WSU. Phil became a member of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in 1970, and in 2013 moved to Church of the Magdalen. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and liked to hunt, fish, and travel in their motorhome. He and Margaret have been in all lower 48 states in their motorhome and had trips to Alaska and Hawaii. Survivors: his wife of 50 years, Margaret Ann; children, Jennifer (Dave) Gell of San Diego, CA, Mark (Loni Walton) Walker of Salida, CO, Damain (Jen) Walker of Wichita, and Maggie (his pup); grandchildren, Ashton and Lola Ann Ferguson of San Diego, CA, Phillip and Ellis Walker of Wichita; brothers, Billy Walker of Kingman, AZ, Earl Joe (Shirl) Walker of Shawnee, KS; sisters, Loreta Ryan, Margie Dunn and Beth Llafet all of Parkville, MO, Marlene Edgington of Wichita. In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established in honor of their grandchildren, Ashton and Lola Ferguson, with the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation (https://give.cff.org/tribute/philwalker). Due to health concerns of the family, we respectfully request all attendees at the services be fully vaccinated against COVID-19. Masks will be required inside. Downing & Lahey Mortuary East.

  1. Margaret and family, our hearts are with you. Phil was a good neighbor! For several months before you left for San Diego, he knew my sister was sick and would always, always ask about her, despite not knowing her. I know he would have asked, if he could have, when he came home. He was that kind of guy. Perhaps they have met now? 💔 Margaret, I’m so sorry. Know that you made the most loving, selfless, yet the most difficult decisions, for Phil. You’re in my thoughts. Rhonda
